ABOUT US
The Association of Vermont Independent Colleges (AVIC) is a member-driven organization devoted to serving the interests of higher education, shaping public policy, and supporting the work of campus leaders throughout the Vermont.
Established in 1981, the 18 member association seeks to strengthen the quality of higher education in Vermont, increase accessibility to the broadest range of students, and foster cooperative efforts among its member institutions and all segments of higher education.
As the voice of independent higher education in Vermont, AVIC works to inform the public about the vital importance of independent colleges and universities to the future of Vermont and the nation.
AVIC is dedicated to expanding the capacity of Vermont’s independent educational network and attracting students who will contribute to the state’s future workforce as well as the economic, civic, and cultural life of Vermont.
